- Motiongate Dubai
Motiongate Dubai brings Hollywood to life in Dubai, with an added sprinkling of fairy dust and thrills galore. There are five themed zones, each based on a great Hollywood studio – Studio Central, Columbia pictures, Smurfs Village, DreamWorks and Lionsgate. Famous movies from DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Studios and Lionsgate have been transformed into spine-tingling rollercoasters and rides. The park’s entrance is via a huge movie reel gate, with streets designed to look like 1920s New York.
In the DreamWorks zone you can enjoy 12 mind-blowing attractions including thrilling family rides, multimedia theatre shows, roller coaster rides and interactive play zones. Soar through the skies with Toothless, the deadly rollercoaster. Live in the world of Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon, Madagascar, and Shrek, without leaving DreamWorks!
Watch as the Lionsgate live shows bring the action-fuelled worlds of The Hunger Games to life. Get your footsies into gear and dance along with the Step Up: All In and Step Up: Revolution movie-based shows.
- Studio Central
In Studio Central, you can get to enjoy behind-the-scene moviemaking being done in real-life movie sets. You’ll be transported into the Golden Age of Hollywood, watching movies being directed at New York City’s movie studios.
- Smurf Village
Imagine this – an entire tiny village with cute blue-skinned little characters wearing silly little knitted caps. Your kids will love the animated show where they can engage with Brainy Smurf and a colony of friendly blue Smurfs. There are 5 attractions including exciting family rides, interactive play zones, and a charming theatre show for all ages.
- Columbia Pictures
The Green Hornet chase is thrilling, and battling ghosts with the Ghostbusters to save New York is something else entirely. Battle with the Lycans with Selene in the Underworld ride, and enjoy roller coasters, water rides and many interactive ghost and zombie shows.
- Bollywood Parks Dubai
In Bollywood Parks Dubai, tons of rides and live shows await you, all based on Bollywood’s classic hits. 4D stunt simulations across six stages, 30 live shows and themed restaurants all over the place! Bollywood Parks Dubai has several zones, as follows:
- Rustic Ravine
Themed around Indian villages, the Rustic Ravine lets you hunt for Gabbar Singh in an interactive 3D ride. The Lagaan indoor zone takes you into the cricket field in the movie, where you can bat for Aamir Khan. The Rangmanch stage is the typical banyan tree platform showcasing garba and bhangra dance performances.
- Royal Plaza
The palatial, Rajmahal Theatre is the centerpiece of this zone. The lifting and revolving stage offers several 4D movie spectaculars a week. The next door Mughal-e-Azam restaurant offers the best royal Mughal cuisine you’ve ever eaten.
- Mumbai Chowk
This zone depicts a street in Mumbai where you can eat all the Mumbai chaats and other street food. There’s an exciting ride called Don The Chase, where you chase criminals across Dubai in a 3D motion immersive tunnel. The Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan and the Dubai police are part of the ride. There’s another famous show, the Mumbai Express, which recreates the Victoria Station, with performances on top of a train.
- Bollywood Boulevard
This is the zone that’s right in front, with a grand theater called Crossroads which brings Bollywood to life on stage. There’s also a fabulous restaurant called Rock On!! That features a live music band.
- Bollywood Film Studio Featuring Hall of Heroes
Get behind the scenes and learn how Bollywood movies are made and how some of the most famous scenes were filmed! The Hall of Heroes features several rides – join Krrish (Hrithik Roshan) as he tries to save Mumbai or SRK on a 4D ride, fighting evil.
- Legoland Dubai
Legoland Dubai is split into several areas, as follows:
- Lego Miniland: This is a model village, which showcases models of global landmark buildings, made of genuine Lego bricks.
- Lego Mindstorms: At Lego Mindstorms, children can build dams using Legos, learning how to subvert the flow of turbulent water. There are also sessions on building musical fountains, and a water-operated Aquatune hydraulophone.
- Duplo Gardens: This is for small kids to build their own monuments with small Lego bricks.
- Lego City: Here you’ll find various educational rides, such as the Driving school, Boating school, Ballooning school, Flying school, and Fire Academy. In the Driving school ride, children drive small electric cars around a small road network and are issues mock licenses.
- Legoland Water Park: This zone offers 20 waterslides where kids can splash about using custom built LEGO® rafts.
Dubai Parks and Resorts offers something for everyone, no matter what their age or preference. Bollywood Parks is the Bollywood movie freak’s dream come true, while Motiongate does the same for the Hollywood fan. Legoland is everything a child under 12 can wish for. Dubai Parks and Resorts is building another zone called Six Flags, though the completion date is not known yet.
