The most recent trend that appeared out in the 2014 lately, the use of “Selfie Stick” to take self-portrait photograph has started rolling back from the planet starting with South Korea, London and United States. A recent report in Daily Mail stated that several major U.S. museums have banned selfie sticks.
“Britain’s largest indoor venue, London’s O2 arena, recently banned them on health and safety grounds; as did the whole of South Korea, which has imposed steep fines for people using them due to the possible side effects of ‘Bluetooth interference’.”
This trend firstly emerged in Asia some years ago, before spreading to the west and creating its popularity over Christmas, when these became one of the bestselling gifts of the season.
For India, these sticks are still in-progress of becoming a trend among the non-metro youth. The availability on the leading online shopping websites like Flipkart, and low prices (all thanks to our neighbours!) are surely going to get them a big market here in India.
